Tim Ho Wan
Capturing precision, tradition & warmth of world‑famous dim sum
Tim Ho Wan isn’t a loud restaurant. Everything is carefully arranged – from the soft lighting to the ambient music. As a food photographer, I felt like I had stepped into a cozy studio, but the aroma of dim sum grounded me in the world of flavors.

The Shooting Set: Key Dishes & Atmosphere
We selected five signature dishes:
-
Baked BBQ Pork Buns
-
Steamed Shrimp Dumplings
-
Pan-fried Turnip Cake
-
Braised Chicken Feet in Black Bean Sauce
-
Glutinous Rice with Chicken in Lotus Leaf
-
Capture the baked buns within the first 5 minutes after they’re served – the glossy crust and rising steam create an irresistible appeal.
-
My favorite angle was the table by the left window – natural light slanted perfectly to highlight the crispy surface and glistening BBQ filling.
Connection to the Brand
Tim Ho Wan is a world-renowned Michelin dim sum chain from Hong Kong, yet the experience in Saigon has its own charm. When lighting, flavors, and stillness align – what you walk away with is not just a beautiful photo series, but a complete story.
